What a marvelous person Maggie was to interview. I ended up running her on the cover of MyCareer. She was just beautiful.
My most recent piece of work, in Sunday Age Sport. I loved being in the roller derby fraternity and was stoked to head the Victorian Roller Derby took number one spot in the world.
I wrote this opinion piece about Darryn Lyons for The Age recently and it was an interesting exercise to say the least. Had some incredibly positive feedback but also plenty saying I was too cruel. Irrespective, it’s out in the public domain now and I thought I’d post it here for posterity.
Enoy!
Thanks to Yes2Renewables for sharing this story about Surf Coast Shire’s environmental leadership. Big thanks to Kate Sullivan and the environment team for being champions – generally. All the time.
It’s not often I sign petitions but this one grabbed my attention. Simon Mulvany is a bee keeper and bee saver. He knows his bees. We need to get bee-killing insecticides banned. The biggest cuplit is Monsanto – of course – who is actually suing Europe for banning neonicotinoids. They are also banned in the US. Australia is lagging behind and we need to take action. If the bees die, we die. It doesn’t get more simple than that.
I recently went on a surf camp to North Stradbroke Island after a writer pitched me a story idea about the retreat. I thought it sounded wonderful and it was. Chix Surfin is the best way to get standing on a board. When I got home the writer had filed so the story got a run this year in MyCareer’s final edition before Christmas.
Raine Busch is the owner of the business and is an inspiring, impressive woman. She keeps the prices low to make it accessible to women (only) everywhere. It cost me around $500 for four night, seven surf lessons, four yoga lessons and six meals. Plus I spent several days with some beautiful women. Could not recommend http://chixsurfin.com/ highly enough.
