Prof Judith Brett discusses the “resource curse” as part of the Geelong Regional Library’s Word for Word Non-Fiction Festival.

Read it in the Geelong Advertiser

People saw lockdown as the great impost. Perhaps there were benefits.

Some wag wrote a letter to the Geelong Advertiser saying he “choked on his breakfast” reading my latest column. If I’m causing near-death experiences to my readership I think I’m doing well.

I’ve just spent time in Portugal and Switzerland researching drug decriminalisation. I was lucky to tag along with Australian Greens Leader Senator Richard Di Natale on his quest to discover approaching to drug treatment abroad. I wrote this opinion piece for the Geelong Advertiser.

I recently went on a surf camp to North Stradbroke Island after a writer pitched me a story idea about the retreat. I thought it sounded wonderful and it was. Chix Surfin is the best way to get standing on a board. When I got home the writer had filed so the story got a run this year in MyCareer’s final edition before Christmas.

Raine Busch is the owner of the business and is an inspiring, impressive woman. She keeps the prices low to make it accessible to women (only) everywhere. It cost me around $500 for four night, seven surf lessons, four yoga lessons and six meals. Plus I spent several days with some beautiful women. Could not recommend http://chixsurfin.com/ highly enough.

This is my piece that featured on the back page of Sunday Age Sport. Such an inspirational young woman.
